Spring Interior Design Tips for Your Coffee Shop
Team Offbeat | 11 Apr

Yay! Spring is finally here and at Offbeat Creative we are feeling inspired by the longer, brighter days and the promise of sunnier climes. With this in mind, we take a look at some interior design ideas to brighten your coffee shop this spring.

Wabi-sabi

While ‘Hygge’ dominated much of 2017, this year it’s all about ‘Wabi-sabi’. The Japanese philosophy meaning ‘imperfect, impermanent and incomplete’ is based on celebrating life’s flaws and finding beauty in imperfection. The key to this concept is authenticity, providing the perfect antidote to fast-paced 21st Century life. To achieve ‘Wabi-sabi’, think asymmetry, roughness, simplicity, intimacy and the integrity of natural objects. Consider combining natural woods and stone with organic green foliage to help portray a modest yet beautiful space.

Bohemian

The boho look is back! From tassels and fringes to weaves and feathers, it’s all about texture. This trend can help add a wonderful eclectic and handmade quality to any coffee shop design. To achieve this look, consider adding macramé wall hangings, tasselled throws or woven plant baskets for instant boho-chic.

Colour Pops

Strong, bold colours are a great way to introduce a fun and playful element to your coffee shop design. A relatively low-cost option, adding splashes of bright colour to walls can help to transform an ordinary space into an uplifting haven. Ice cream tones will be particularly popular this year. For a vivid yet calming coffee shop ambience, mix and match sweet shades of pastels to create a vibrant colour palette without overwhelming the senses. Go on, be brave with colour this spring!
