London’s Latest Dining Development
Team Offbeat | 19 Jul

Situated in the heart of the West End, this week marks the opening of London’s latest food hall – Arcade Food Theatre. Located on the ground floor of New Oxford Street’s iconic Centre Point building, the Grade-II listed space facilitates a new, stylish food hall.

The Offering

The all-day food theatre houses a collection of innovative food and beverage concepts from across London. There’s plenty on offer from the likes of Lina Stores, Pastorcito, Oklava and Pophams Bakery.

Altogether there are six independent kitchens, three bars, an outdoor terrace and ‘The loft’ – an experimental mezzanine kitchen space designed to showcase some of the City’s most exciting emerging culinary concepts.

The Interior Design

Architecture and design studio, Macaulay Sinclair have worked closely with Arcade to create a contemporary design in response to the buildings mid-century modernist style. The 12,500sq ft, ex-bus terminal is fitted out with sleek black marble columns, lush foliage, soft lighting, upholstered seating and exposed metal piping for an overall sophisticated yet functional space.

The concept focuses on the growing trend for theatrical dining. Open kitchens and counter seating will help facilitate and emphasise the sounds, sights, tastes and feel of each concept, adding to the overall dining experience.

What’s Next for Food Halls?

Due to open this summer, the next food hall opening of 2019 will be Market Hall West End. At 37,000sq ft, it will be the largest food hall in the country. The group’s third site will feature twelve independent food vendors, four bars and a children’s play area – watch this space for more!

With markets popping up regularly across the capital, the food hall is well and truly thriving and here to stay. Offering cool vibes and great food, what’s not to love?
